Atomic Bombshell

Stealth Aerobics

December 14th, 2004

Received my first Christmas gift in the mail yesterday from one of my long-time online buddies. He got me so good with this one. It’s one of those gifts that forces you to admit what a freak you really are.

DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION ULTRAMIX
AND IGNITION DANCE PAD FOR XBOX

Now, I would have really liked to pretend that I’m far too mature for such a thing, but in truth I grinned all day at the prospect of going home to bust it out and dance my ass off all night.

I wouldn’t be caught dead playing one of these games in public! Heavens no. In fact I’m pretty sure I’ve made fun of people who do.

Hypocrite that I am, I played DDR for two hours straight and didn’t peel myself off the dance pad until I was dripping with sweat and nearly ready to pass out because I had neglected to eat lunch and dinner… Priorities, you know.

As I finally collapsed giggling, spent from playing this totally retarded teenie-bopper game, I realized something amazing: I just completed one of the longest, most grueling aerobic workouts of my life.

That damn game tricked me! Wait just a minute here… I hate aerobics with every fiber of my being, yet I’ll dance in place in my living room for hours? I’m sure I look completely ridiculous but I don’t care.

This game is better than awesome – It’s bloody brilliant!

Oohhhh you are gonna be sore tomorrow I bet!!!

DDR reminds me of a game an old co-worker used with his PS2 that used marimba’s or something like that. All I could think to myself was “I wish that boy would come out of the closet” hehehehe

    Oh lawd…

Hey, I keep hinting around for my wife to get a PS2.

(Strictly for the children of course. Oh, I might need to check it out, just so I can properly show the girls how to operate it. And I’ll need to make sure the games are… No! Really! Its for the children.)

I usued to have something similar for my old Nintendo for a few games. I found the trick was to get on your knees and tap things with your fingers. Heh…

Anyway, I’m wondering if that game and pad are available for the PS2. I’d hate to have to buy and XBOX just to dance my butt off.

They have DDR for PS2. And you called it Kanga… I’m sore.
Two nights of non-stop dancing and my legs are yelling at me.

I just got both Ultramix and Ultramix 2, and my calves are burning but damn is it fun! Also, workout mode? Amazing.

    I looooooove DDR!
I’m really bad at it but I don’t care because it’s so much fun. You don’t even notice that it’s a workout until you take a break and realize your thighs won’t support your body weight anymore ha ha ha

Oh I miss my DDR. My nightly ritual of fat burning fun! (I have it for the PS2) I’ve been on crutches for 2months, and my 2 dance pads are gathering dust. I’ll just live vicariously though you for now :)

Never played DDR, there are these Japanese kids over here who go absolutely mental on them here… Wonder if they have it for PC.
