Allow me to introduce you to Domo-Kun
A small brown open-mouthed monster, hatched from an egg, who lives with a wise old rabbit underground. He really, really likes TV and also enjoys rocking out. When he’s in a bad mood… he breaks wind.
Oh yeah, he’s also a corporate mascot in Japan – Go figure!

I NEED to get one of those! I’ve got a friend studying in Japan for a while. Maybe he can pick one up for me. Hmmm…

Domo-kun is the spokesperson for one of Japan’s largest TV stations. From what I understand, he’s supposed to be a TV. Yeah, I don’t get it either.

Oh my God! I live i Korea and I love that furry guy. He’s one of the mascots for BS1 and BS2, and whever they have had live station IDs or wishes for a Happy New Year or whatever, he is always perched on their microphone.
It seems both Korea and Japan have fascinations with farting. :/

I feel so out of the loop! I’ve never seen that little guy before. He’s kinda ugly and cute at the same time. Wow, sorta like my man. Maybe I need one of those for when my guy isnt’ home?

I had seen Domo-Kun pop up on Fark numerous times, but I had never seen the cute little beastie placed in any actual context. Thanks for the background info!

Hi, I live in Osaka in Japan and I love the little monster. The picture stories you showed were really sweet, too!

I love Domo-Kun! I have three dolls (the one you pictures, a wind-up and a completely square one). My boyfriend picked them up for me in Japan.

Ah… Japan – Land of weirdness. Mind you, weirdness is abundant everywhere, but Japan has a special kind of weirdness. Whenever I need a chuckle I go to Engrish.com. Your flatulent squarehead cannot replace my Totoro doll, however…!

Well- Japan is where all the new “hip and cool” things are originating these days. If it’s cool there- wait about 6-9 months and watch it gain in popularity here.

God sends those damn things to kill kittens every time someone masturbates.
They’re evil.
