On Saturday night, I saw my girlie from Alias kick yet more boo-tay as Elektra – Definitely worth the price of a movie ticket, in case you were wondering. Then spent all day Sunday watching Battlestar Galactica – Which I also happen to highly recommend.
This new trend of replaying television shows to death really works for me… Gives me a fighting chance to keep up with good shows. I had missed out on the original 4-hour BG miniseries that came out a year ago, so it was fantastic to catch up before watching the first two episodes of the new series.
Speaking of fantastic – I also got to see the preview for the new “Fantastic Four” movie coming out… Looks good. Something to look forward to. However, Keanu Reeves as “Constantine” doesn’t seem quite as promising. Maybe it’s just me, but after that third Matrix I kinda burned out on the guy.
You know what would rock? A second Punisher movie. Did you see the first one yet? Talk about underrated, I could kick myself for not seeing it while it was in theatres. Thomas Jane did a wonderful job in the lead role, and the whole tone of the movie was just perfect.
But I digress… Elektra and Battlestar Galactica = GOOD.

Rotten Tomatoes rates it 7% out of 100%… I’ll wait for DVD.

Seems I don’t often agree with movie critics… Go figure. In all seriousness, if you’re a fan of comic books at all (and yet not a total commie purist) the movie was great fun! I especially enjoyed its uniquely distinct feminine perspective.

Rotten Tomatoes for your movie reviews? They gave Lemony Snickets a rating of 68%… That has got to be the worst movie review site I have ever seen!

I tend to look for trends in reviews, because many reviewers are not honest about how much their personal taste affects their review. I think all “superhero” type movies should be rated on a special scale, with “Van Helsing” for “as bad as can be” at one end and “Spider Man 2″ at the other end for “try and top this”.

You mean a THIRD… Dolph Lundgren is the real Punisher!

I think Akku means Battery in German. Oh, and the Lundgren version can bite me… The newer one is a vast improvement.

YES! Punisher was awesome! I don’t know why people didn’t like that movie!
Elektra… meh… I can’t say it was that great.

Ah – Battlestar Galatica – I remember watching the first series. I’d heard about the movie – but I didn’t know it was a new series. I’ll have to look for it!

I *love* Alias, but was disappointed by Daredevil. I am definitely planning on seeing Elektra. But do you think it was better than Daredevil? I sure hope so. Though as I said – I wouldn’t miss Jennifer Garner as Elektra anyway.

I wanted to like Elektra so much – am a huge fan of her comic book life, but the film sucked ass and made me want to attack the makers with ninja weapons!!
Read my review here if you want. Nice blog though!!

I used to love Alias, then it became a little naive. Cute girlie though.

I caught Battlestar while I was in the UK last year – it was AWESOME! Hasn’t made its way onto Aussie screens yet but I’ve been eyeing the DVDs.
Great looking blog by the way – good template.
