Wow… They really should classify the XM radio eighties station under a second, and far more accurate category: COMEDY!
Just finished laughing my butt off at the selections played over the last two hours. Here’s a sample of their playlist, each confirming that entertainers were consuming a lot of cocaine that decade…
Turn Your Love Around – George Benson
We’ve Got Tonight – S. Easton & K. Rogers
Won’t Back Down – Tom Petty
Point of No Return – Nu Shooz
Call Me – Go West
On the Loose – Saga
Super Freak – Rick James
Physical – Olivia Newton John
Careless Whisper – George Michael
Always On My Mind – Willie Nelson
Always On My Mind – Pet Shop Boys

I’ll have to agree with you there. Now if only they would play the commercials from back then, it would be just too funny.

There’s a lot about that decade that is hilarious. I don’t get it considering I was just a kid when my grandma made the neon Hammer pants that I wore around. But I didn’t own it, you know?

The problem is that they only play pop music from the ’80s. There was some really good music if you know where to look. Just check out The Specials.

Lewis: They do play snippets of commercials, and even from tv shows, every hour or so… Just heard a Dynasty clip.
Silentz: You’re right. But the pop stuff they find is so hilarious, I stick around just to laugh at what’s next.
Christina: I’m afraid I’m going to need to see photographic evidence of those neon Hammer pants.

Ok embarrassing confession time, I used to sing ONJ’s Physical all the time when I was little, except I changed the lyrics to: I wanna buy a barbie doll, barbie doll. So sad.

Yea, I’m remembering a terminator clip (or was it predator) myself that I heard recently. It was funny listening to the guys voice over and the lack of anything else. I think the only sound effects were some gun shots.

So… no butt any more? Whatta loss for humankind. (You said you laughed it off — I assumed that worked kinda like Opus.)
