Hustle & Flow

Zen Garden

Csikszentmihalyi would be proud: I achieved FLOW today – That elusive, Zen-like state where your productivity goes through the roof and time stretches… Kind-of like in the Matrix with Neo on that rooftop.

Not only did I dodge bullets by completing all projects that were due, I also made progress on everything else on my plate. For a while there I’d been in a productivity tar pit, spinning my wheels and still drowning.

I love that Zen like feeling! It’s truly amazing, though I can’t turn it on when I want, unfortunately.

Oh score! If only I had that happening to me. I just hate what I have to do here at the office – Data entry is NOT my cup of tea.

I can usually achieve the FLOW only with a medium iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts and some great tunes on my MP3… and even then, it’s hit or miss. Congrats!

Csikszentmihalyi suggests that we best reach flow when we are challenged at a level apropriate to our skills. Perhaps that’s why I tend to achieve flow while taking a dump and reading a book at the same time. šŸ˜†

I wish I could hit FLOW, lately I’ve been stuck in a productivity tar pit and it’s getting annoying.

Maybe you can tell me where to find the white rabbit, cause I need some serious work motivation as I’m on the road to quitsville.
