September 18th, 2005
Tonight I peered through a telescope for the first time. Many thanks to my friend and neighbor, who you’ll see post comments around here as “JH” now and again. To celebrate this momentous event, I’ve posted some new images in my “Final Frontiers” photo gallery.
If I’m lucky, we’ll get to head out of the city and its light pollution in a couple of weeks to see some cool stuff. Today I viewed the moon through an 8″ telescope. It’s one thing to see pictures, but quite a different experience to explore the moon’s surface with your own eyes. It was beautiful… Can’t wait to see more!

I took an astronomy course once but as it was during the summer we never got to go outside and use the scope. I bet it was really cool last night with the full moon and all.

My neighbor has his own observatory type thing set up, but I have never been there to see it because, well, you know, I am Silentz.

The first time I laid my eyes on the mood with a telescope was awesome for me as well. Gosh, I wish I could be you right now… shoot, don’t have the time to watch the stars… isn’t that a shame?!

Sounds nice. My brother has a great telescope, and he and I have spent several nights looking at the moon with it.
I posted some pics from the Air Show this weekend, and of some of the pilots, etc. with Kaiden…if you feel like drooling.

We have an observatory close to where we live but I have never visited. May be I will now.
