My first love was the one and only boy who never grew up — Peter Pan. I’m not ashamed to say it, either.
When as a child I read of his exploits, imagining that wry smile, I melted. Even the horribly unattractive Disney portrayal didn’t change my mind.
Even today I can hardly imagine a better choice. Take a closer look at his unique qualifications:
- He can fly, which makes for a fantastic first date.
- Excellent sense of humor, even under pressure.
- Hangs with fairies, pirates, mermaids & Indians.
- Admirable leadership skills, and lots of moxie.
- That blend of bad-boy mischief girls adore.
- He really knows how to wield his sword.
In the category of “be careful what you wish for” I actually ended up marrying Peter Pan’s equivalent, as found outside of Neverland…
Here we call boys who never grow up “Engineers.”
So, who was your first love?

By the picture, I take it you saw the live action remake of Peter Pan. And to answer your question: You must be joking, I love nothing.

Oh yeah, and the movie was pretty good. Also recently saw “Finding Neverland” which was also interesting… Of course, anything starring drool-worthy Johnny Depp is always a treat.

Depends. What do you mean? LOL
I mean, you had that “first love” that was a fantasy… and then you had that “first love” that was in your real life.
My first boy I ever noticed and made me go WHOAH! Was one of the members of the Puerto Rican boy-band, “Menudo” LOL
I had his picture on my wall and used to drool over it, talk to it and kiss it! hahahaha
Then I had that “first love” in real life. That would be my Hubby. I met him when I was 16.

I suppose I mean the first of the two… First “crush” maybe?
But hey, was it Ricky Martin from his Menudo days?!

My first love was Barbara Eden from the I Dream of Jeannie series. She was a trend-setter, ya know – the first to bare her bellybutton on prime time national TV. Her unique qualifications: She did whatever The Master wanted without question; She lived in a bottle; She always dressed scantily (unless ordered otherwise); She could get you whatever you wanted in the blink of an eye (well, 2 eyes!); She was completely devoted to The Master. What teenage boy wouldn’t want all of that?

Wasn’t Peter Pan’s fantasy realm Never NEVER land? “Neverland” was (I thought) Mr. Jackson’s ranch up near Santa Ynez. Heaven forfend that we get the two confused… Due to my advanced age, I was actually able to see a live performance with Mary Martin as Peter Pan, flying above the audience.

I married an engineer too (well, he’s going to be a computer engineer), and it’s a lot of fun. Let’s see though, who was my first love? Kris, to be quite honest. It’s a long story, but I met him when I was in kindergarten. I’ll have to save that for another post, LOL!

It really is just “Neverland” according to the book, which you can read here: http://www.online-literature.com/barrie/peterpan/1/

I had a first date that involved flying. Seriously! It was great, but it was downhill from there.

The story of Peter Pan has been forever creepified in my mind by Michael Jackson… The fact that he calls himself Peter Pan and his house Neverland… Too weird!

I refer to my first husband as Peter Pan! Now, I can also call him an ‘Engineer’ and he will have no idea what I am going on about!

I thought my first husband was kind of Peter Pannish… But husband 2.0 is the one. If you want to see how cool he is just visit his blog: http://cavschool.blogspot.com/
He rides horses, shoots, wears a sword, and is tall dark and handsome. Also has a great sense of humour. I’ve had a lot of crushes/relationships over the years with guys whom I thought were in this mold, but they all fell dramatically short of the mark… Until this guy.

Bond… James Bond.

The Bombshell | October 13th, 2005 at 6:46 pm
Ooh… James Bond is an excellent choice! Want to know a secret? Pierce Brosnan (sorry, but my favorite Bond) is the actor that I find THE most attractive, even with all the Brad Pitts and Johnny Depps… I’m a sucker for the snappy dressers and I’ve liked him ever since the days of Remington Steele… Sick? Perhaps. But true!

Neb | October 13th, 2005 at 9:22 pm
Not sick in the slightest. He’s a class act. Give me a snappy (not foppish) dresser every time. The dirty t-shirt and ball cap crowd need not apply. Not that my hubby doesn’t wear a ball cap often… But we’re rugged outdoorsy types, dontcha know. He cleans up very well…
