The best thing to do is cry in the rain because then nobody can see the difference. Though I suppose the downside is that you have to wait untill it rains before you can cry.

I cry anywhere, anytime, for any reason. I mainly cry while listening to music, which is often, since I'm a deejay. Mostly, I cry alone.

Crying in the shower: check. For all the above reasons, including the fact that it does release endorphine-like chemicals.

Mike: the "vomit" analogy kind of works...without the ghastly nausea. I approach both phenomena the same way in that I'll do anything to avoid it, but when it's time to let go I really let go and then I feel much better (usually).

You know, when the shit hit the fan with my husband in the beginning of December - I took off a WEEK to cry. It was probably the best thing I did!

In March of last year, my mother passed away. I never broke down completely, but every once in a while, I need to shoot some tears out. They feel like a vomit that needed to come out in that once they're out, you got that particular bad feeling out, and you can move forward. I know exactly what you are talking about.

I don't have a problem in the world with crying. I'll throw some out a bucket of tears whenever the mood strikes. Drives my husband batty, but I feel so much better if I cry over something that bothers me.

Holy cow, Lisa... Another case of our cosmic twin phenomenon! For some reason when I'm doing cardio at the gym it taps into some emotional area and without warning I'll burst into tears.

In fact, that's why I'm forcing myself to get it out in the shower... Crying during cardio means you can't breathe. Not breathing means you die... Then again, maybe that would be the perfect solution.

I cry in the shower, too. It's the only place in my apartment where I can absolutely be by myself without worrying about my husband coming in and bugging me about what's wrong or having to answer the phone or the door or something. Shower is a good place to cry.

I agree. The people who don't cry have bigger problems than the people that do. Holding it in hurts more than just letting it all out... and everyone cries at some point, even if the tear ducts aren't working they're crying on the inside. Secrets hurt. When "crying" becomes too secret it hurts worse than the embarassment a good obvious cry might cause. Good luck with letting it out in private.
